The arch support you paid for is somewhere down there, below your foot, and your foot is doing what it did before: landing on the heel, landing on the ball, bridging over the middle with nothing underneath.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf that is your experience with insoles, you probably have a high arch. And what you have been buying was not built for you.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWhy most insoles do not reach\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMost feet sit somewhere in the middle, so most insoles are built for somewhere in the middle. That is a reasonable business decision and a bad outcome for about one person in five. An arch support that stops short of your arch is not weak support — it is no support. Your foot passes over the top of it and never makes contact.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhich is why \"it feels fine, but nothing changed\" is the most common thing a high-arched person writes in a review of a mainstream insole.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePerseveranX is built for the tall end. The top layer is open-cell foam; the support sits underneath it. And that support is not a solid plate. Most insoles use a continuous TPU shell across the arch and heel — the simple way to get stiffness, and the reason they feel rigid. Ours is open through the middle: the frame wraps the heel and extends forward along the inside of the arch as a U, carrying load along the edges and leaving the centre unbridged. We did not soften the material to get that give. It is the stiffest TPU we use. We changed its shape instead.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTurn one over and you can see straight through the arch.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe part that decides whether it lasts\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlmost every insole is built from closed-cell foam — sealed gas bubbles in a rubber matrix. Inexpensive, molds well, feels excellent new. Under repeated load those bubble walls collapse and stay collapsed. The industry calls it pack-out.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor a high arch it costs double. A medium foot that loses three millimetres of arch still has contact. A high arch that loses three millimetres is back to a gap — nothing under the middle of the foot again, with an insole that still looks new.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe call it the Pack-Out Problem, and it is the reason your last pair stopped working.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePerseveranX uses open-cell foam.
