Soft is easy. Soft that is still soft in month four is the hard part — and that is the entire design brief for Plush. It is the deepest cushioning in our line, built specifically for people who stand in one place for a very long time.

Why it costs more

Making a foam soft is not difficult. Making a soft foam that recovers under sustained load, rather than compressing into a flat sheet, is a different problem — and standing all day is the most punishing load an insole gets. A foam soft enough to feel this good normally fails fastest. Plush is priced above our standard line because that combination is the difficult one to produce.

What makes it different

Almost every insole is closed-cell foam — sealed gas bubbles in a rubber matrix. Under sustained load the bubble walls collapse and stay collapsed. The industry calls it pack-out, and it hits soft foams hardest.

Plush is open-cell. Air moves through interconnected cells as the foam loads and unloads, so it displaces rather than crushes and recovers between steps.

• 35mm arch height, measured to the top of the finished insole — built for the tall end of the arch range. Trim-to-fit
• 5mm of open-cell foam on top — your arch rests on foam, not on structure
• Open-center TPU frame — a U-shaped support rail instead of a solid plate. The stiffest TPU we use, shaped to flex rather than softened to flex
